Our Deepest Thanks for the New Camp Pool
The new camp pool was completed just before the start of the 2008 Camp Trinity season. The total cost of the new pool was $237,000, and we successfully raised $212,000, primarily from churches and individuals of the Diocese of East Carolina. As someone who has watched children play and learn in the camp pool for the past twenty years, I can think of no greater gift that we can give future campers.
The new pool has allowed us to teach more children to  swim at one time, and it has allowed us to teach those children to swim more effectively. The “T” shape provides multiple areas for pool activities, so that we can have a water basketball game going in the shallow area while children are still jumping safely into the deep end. All summer long, we watched children approach the new pool with wonder in their eyes, not really believing that it was all for them. My deepest thanks to all who contributed to the Pool Fund.
